James Taylor

James Taylor’s five times Grammy award winning career as a folk singer-songwriter began at Apple Records in 1968, when James was living in London. He was born in 1948 in Boston, Massachusetts and raised in Carrboro, North Carolina — the state that inspired his homesick classic ‘Carolina In My Mind’. This was one of 12 original songs found on his debut LP, James Taylor, issued by Apple and produced by Peter Asher.

James Taylor also includes another of his most popular songs, ‘Something In The Way She Moves’, which alongside ‘Carolina’ was re-recorded in 1976 for his first Greatest Hits collection which, to date, has sold nearly 20 million copies worldwide and has qualified for a rare RIAA ‘Diamond’ award. In his 40+ year career James has scored 11 US Billboard Top 10 albums and five Billboard Top 10 Pop singles. His latest album was released in 2010.
